TRADE WAR: US Court Rules Against Chinese Tire Tariff


In a decision completely ignored by mainstream media, the US Court of International Trade ruled the the USA Commerce Department must forego its countervailing duties imposed on imports of Chinese tires affirmed by President Obama's proclamation or adapt its policies regarding Non-Market Economies and the applicablility of countervailing duties. The court gave Commerce a week to respond - that time ends today. Now Commerce will have 90 days for its determination. This is an important case to watch. Commerce is under great pressure to nuance its policies otherwise lose the last remaining (until the end of 2013) weapon in America's China trade challenge....
