USA Steelmakers File AntiDumping Complaint on Chinese Steel Pipe


US Steel and seven other steelmakers have filed a petition of countervailing duties and antidumping with federal authorities against importation of Chinese oil country tubular goods (steel pipe, etc.). A preliminary determination is due May 26. Duties could be assessed on the alleged margins ranging from 40 to 90%. Tit-for-Tat trade disputes are never productive. If successfuly, American importers will simply source the products from a non restricted source country (until those producers get slapped with extra duties and fines)...
