Espionage Charges Dropped in Keyser Spy Case

The US Government will drop it's charges of espionage in the Donald Keyser spy case.
Don Keyser, former number two under Secretary of State Colin Powell and top spy for Taiwan intelligence, will now be sentenced on January 22, 2007, barring any more court room drama. Keyser's attorney, Clinton administration heavyweight Robert Litt, is pushing for probation while the prosecution could recommend the maximum of 2 1/2 years in prison. Perhaps as a compromise in honor of the falsely accused Wen Ho Lee, Mr. Keyser should spend a year in solitary confinement?

Josh Gerstein of the New York Sun filed this report on December 13.
